The OHS Men's Varsity Soccer Team is coming off a great 2008 campaign. After finishing 3rd in a very competitive Sierra Foothill Soccer League behind undefeated Granite Bay and second place Rocklin, the Vikings entered the playoffs and faced Ponderosa defeating them 3-0 on the road. In the section semi-finals the Vikings defeated Rocklin (4-2) in penalty kicks after a scoreless game and overtime. We fell just short in the finals versus Granite Bay. After knotting up the match at 2 with 15 minutes to go, the Granite Bay offense kicked into high gear and defeated the Vikings 5-2. The Vikings return many starters this season including seniors Kody Duff, Roy Pedro, Brandon Vargas, Robert Work, Cole Alexander, and Tyler Kuresa to name a few. The Vikings will need additional support from their juniors and sophomores in there effort to qualify for postseason play once again this year. Hopefully after last season's experience, they will be up to the task and once again reach the section finals with a different result this time.
