Program Overview: Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program

The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program provides challenging curriculum and instruction to students capable of achieving significantly beyond the level of their peers. Students in the Roseville Joint Union High School District are served primarily through activities and materials in their honors and advanced placement classes. Important components of the GATE program at each site include communication among GATE teachers, parental involvement, staff development and increased opportunities and outcomes for GATE students.

GATE activities are outlined each year in an annual plan based on the recommended standards for Gifted and Talented Students. These standards address program design, identification of students, curriculum and instruction, social and emotional development, professional development of staff, parent and community involvement and program assessment.

Judie Pairan is the GATE coordinator Oakmont High School. For information, please contact her at jpairan@rjuhsd.k12.ca.us
