“We could’ve done better; I could’ve done better. On defense and on offense, I could’ve done more,” starting Junior forward John Adenrele says about the three point loss to Rocklin on January 7. His teammate, Senior Tony Gill, agrees stating: “We didn’t do what we do well.” He is also disappointed because he knows “What the team is capable of” when they “play [their] game.” The game ended on a bad note for Oakmont when the team lost by three points. The loss gives the boys motivation in their next meeting with Rocklin though. There will be “A lot [more] heart and passion” Adenrele affirms. He feels that the team was “basically robbed,” because they’ve “shown that [they] can beat [Rocklin],” says Junior Trevor Bellinger. Head Varsity Coach Rick Campbell took the boys into the locker room after the game and reminded them “that [they] played hard the second half and turned the game around.” “We just made silly mistakes,” adds Senior Chris Jackson. “It was frustrating. We’re going to make up for it though.” |
