"In a gentle way you can shake the world." (Mahatma Gandhi)

I have spent eighteen years in education as a social science and world language teacher. I attended Pomona-Pitzer College and received my BA in Spanish and minor in Education from UC Davis in 1987. I earned my teaching credential in 1990 from CSU Sacramento. As a college student, I earned recognition as an All Conference and All American track and field athlete.

While teaching, I coached girls basketball as well as track and field at various area high schools.

I did a brief stint in the United States Navy as an officer candidate before landing my first teaching job at Elk Grove HS. I am married and have four children including a set of twins! My husband Tim Healy is also in education and teaches at Granite Bay High School.

I am completing my Master's in Education and Policy Leadership at CSU Sacramento. Go Vikings!
